The government of Delhi is planning to build new embassies. The need for these new embassies is because of the saturation in Chanakyapuri area of Delhi. This area has been a home to all the foreign diplomats for decades. But, due to a shortage of space for 40 new embassies, DDA has launched a project Diplomatic Enclave 2 in Dwarka. This will provide for at least 40 countries for their embassies. The DDA in 2015 had passed a statement that the plotting of the land for Diplomatic Enclave 2 has begun. The External Affairs Ministry has thoroughly inspected the area before giving a nod to this new development. A vast area of 222 acres of land in Dwarka sector 24 has been allocated for this new enclave.
This has come as a good news for the people residing near Dwarka and the future population that would come up in L zone. The L zone is nearby Dwarka. With the coming of this enclave, infrastructural development will bound to take place around that area, which would enhance the life of people. In a way, it will give a further impetus to the falling real estate market. Due to the land pooling policy, L zone has been considered as the next big thing in the Indian real estate market and Diplomatic Enclave will only help the motive. The DDA is planning to transform Delhi into a Smart City. For this, an extensive layout of Master Plan Delhi 2021 has already been done. Therefore, L zone, Diplomatic Enclave 2 and many more important upcoming places like AIIMS 2 will improve the scope for development in Delhi and make it a Smart City.
